General description
Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) is the second largest university in Germany and has currently 46.000 students enrolled in one of 150 curriculums. With the Graduate Center and its general culture for excellence of interdisciplinary teaching and learning LMU receives highest grades among German students. LMU received funding for the Excellence Initiative and attracted the most excellence clusters (e.g. NIM) and elite graduate schools in Germany. LMU ranks on position 52 on the academic ranking of world universities (Shanghai University ranking), which is the best position of a German university.
